Yellow-legged Gull

Along with adult, summer plumaged Mediterranean Gull, adult Yellow-legged Gull has to be one othe most gorgeous. That is praise indeed from a Larophobe like me. These two birds were loafing along the rocky shoreline at Corralejo.

  1. Like the last shot John, a classic pose but the wind ruffled mantle and sea spray capture the atmosphere well, with lookers like that how can you not love them?

I took 100s of shots with the spray etc… I do love gulls on an individual basis and in the right setting. A lovely day in Fuerteventura for example… I hate gull roosts or twitching such things as Glaucous-winged Gull on tips.

  3. Amazing how dark Yellow-legged Gulls can look.
