One of the most wanted birds in VC55 finally fell last night just as I was about to go to the same meeting as The Llama. Knackers! After discussion with Andy, I decided to play it cool and go after work. For once this plan worked as I got splendid views of the first Buff-breasted Sandpiper for the County at Rutland Water tonight. Dave Gray put me onto watching it from Plover Hide.
Excellent views but distant for even digiscoping – all these are pretty heavy crops.
At least four Sanderling amongst the more common waders on the excellent Lagoon IV.
