A Black Day at Watermead South

With all the Black Terns knocking about I was planning to drop into Watermead Country Park South on my way home from work as this is the most reliable spot in the Soar Valley for them. As I neared the site my mobile rang, I pulled over and checked the calls. A missed call from Dave Gray – he’d beaten me to a bloody Black Tern by about 5mins!

Oh well, species 144 for the Soar Valley was, for once, a very smart winter adult.
