The Drunkbirder’s Drinking Dens – The Sheffield Tap

Sunday night saw Leigh and I heading up to Sheffield to the first night of The Cool Off in The Washington hosted by Ska DJing legend Dave Mack.

Prior to heading up to The Wash’ we had met up with Andy Fox (our landlord for the night) and headed down to The Sheffield Tap. The Tap opened at the back end of last year and this was our first chance for a visit. The pub is a fantastic renovation of the old 1st Class refreshment rooms at Sheffield Midland station.

What a cracking pub and what a beer range. A good selection of Thornbridge beers as well as other Biritsh guest beers supplemented by a large range of World beers on draught and a large selection of bottles from home and abroad.

The only problem we had was time, we only had time for a couple of pints but we will be back. The Sheffield Tap is on Platform 1B of Sheffield Station and can also be accessed from Sheaf Street. You won’t be disappointed… unless you think Fosters Extra Cold is a good beer!
