Ketton Cement

I started my morning leading a Dawn Chorus walk at Welford Road Cemetery, though to be honest there wasn’t much chorus but we did manage to rack up a respectable 21 species… fly-over Canada Goose wasn’t what I expected though.

Following this I headed to Ketton Quarry again this morning this time looking for Butterflies as well as reptiles. About 10 Grizzled Skipper this morning but buggers to get settled.

By contrast I could only find one Dingy Skipper which was also a little less skittish.

After a quick pit-stop in Uppingham I dropped down to Eyebrook Reservoir. A cracking Bar-tailed Godwit and a Sanderling were the pick of the birds but a flock of 29 Arctic Tern moving quickly through were nice.

Sorry about the wind-noise but it was windy!
