Despite the brilliant weather last weekend both my visits to Arne coincided with less than ideal Dragonfly conditions. On Sunday, I finally found the right pools at least and they were reasonably well sheltered from the strong winds. Problem was it was cloudy. After about an hour though the sun did finally break through long enough to tempt a few Dragons out.
The first was indeed a Downy Emerald followed by a nice male Emperor. On another pool a pair of Four-spotted Chasers were resident while a second Downy was tempted out.
