Vismigging – 4 September 2011

Spent a good (well boring to be honest) few hours with Dave Gray at The Mammoth this morning. The winds were generally from the South, swinging from SSE1 to SSW2 as the rain set in. Knowing that Tree Pipit like to move in crappy weather we stuck it out. No Tree Pipit, no Pipits of any kind bur another two flava Wagtails joined the 46 Swallow and 26 Sand Martin that were moving South.

After a quick coffee we headed round to Birstall Meadows where there was an excellent count of 81 Shoveler. A pair of Raven heading NE being mobbed by a Kestrel kept the City list ticking over…
