Arrived on St Mary’s yesterday morning to the news that the Northern Waterthrush had been seen at Shooter’s Pool at Lower Moors. Being a possible lifer we headed off there. Ignoring Shooter’s Pool, very busy, we headed to the Hilda Quick hide. Not much on show but an Eel proved a distraction.
Round at the ISBG Hide the Lesser Yellowlegs was getting chased around by a truculent Greenshank… which in turn got its comeuppance from a the Wilson’s Snipe.
My afternoon was spent by Higgo’s Pool in the vain hope the Waterthrush would come in to roost… it didn’t!
A bit of music to finish off… only one song I reckon?
