Lyveden New Bield

On Saturday, Leigh and I decided to get a bit of use out of our National Trust membership by heading into Northamptonshire to Lyveden New Bield. This lovely bit of Elizabethan architecture was abandoned in 1605 following the death of Sir Thomas Trensham and his sons involvement in the Gunpowder Plot… no bonfire celebrations were evident here surprisingly.
