Just Deserts

After accompanying me on one of my Isabelline Wheatear dips in South Wales, Leigh added a new Wheatear to her British List – the male Desert Wheatear that has been around at Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve for a few days thankfully stayed. By the time we arrived the sun was just dipping below the cliff tops and a few minutes wasted trying to photograph (though it’s never a waste seeing) a Short-eared Owl so the light wasn’t great. Thankfully the bird would show down to a few feet.
