MiTunes: Fun Boy Three – Waiting

Wow, it seems such a long time ago I did a MiTunes.

Waiting

I’ve been listening to the Fun Boy Three a lot lately. Waiting was the second and final album by the band, formed out of the ashes of The Specials by Neville Staple, Lynval Golding and Terry Hall. The eponymous first album went gold on its release and featured the hits T’aint What You Do (It’s The Way That You Do It) and The Lunatics Have Taken Over The Asylum.

Waiting for me is a more polished (and I don’t mean over-produced) album with some cracking songs that reflected the social tensions in Britain in the early 1980s. It really is a pop album of the highest order. Incidentally the album was produced by the great David Byrne… could it get better?
