After last week, when I didn’t go for the Melodious Warbler at Tiln in Notts, I headed there with Neil Howes aka Desert Storm and Minnie Mü for a bit of Midlands listing. A smooth journey up and after lifting The Mü over a fence – when she just wanted to be tickled- and we were soon listening to the bird. Unlike a lot of other birders – we never saw it perched on tree tops but more skulking in the young pines and giving us a hard time. We did see it well but there was always vegetation in the way… not good for photography or digiscoping. The best was was iphonescoping.
Neil and Minnie celebrate another lifer for her.
One thing the bird did do was sing… fully living up to its name.
